Predator hunting

The predator hunting has been pretty slow the last month of so. Ground conditions terrible with little snow. With that said, here are a few we managed to call up.

where is the snow?

Southern U.P. is sure lacking snow…The deer look in great shape! Easy winter thus far. We could use some moisture though that is for sure.

Trees are in the ground!

The spring tree planting season is drawing to an end. What a great spring to get trees in the ground. Its has been a busy spring with over 3000 trees planted!  All we need now is mother nature to continue bringing the rains!

Shed hunting getting good

Sheds are really turning up! We are still seeing bucks holding though. Snow is getting a little deeper now making it a little harder but we are still finding them.

Time for some shed hunting!

Bucks have been dropping! Starting to pick up quite a few sheds. We have had a couple days of rain here and warm temps so the snow is down considerably. Great time to go out and find some fresh drops!

Congrats to all!

Congrats everyone on a very successful season! What an unbelievable Deer Season thus far. Muzzleloading season is still going and late bow season is also going till the 1st of Jan. Good luck to all! Don’t forget, some of the most important habitat work is about to begin in the winter, bedding area enhancement and screening, along with TSI (timber stand improvement)!

Get Ready!!

That time of year is almost upon us! Oct. 1 bowhunting begins! Things happening early this fall, bucks out of velvet end of August, and scrapes, and rubs showing up everywhere. We have been seeing some great bucks the last couple weeks. Seeing alot of sparring and herd hierarchy establishing. Fall patterns will start early I believe and we will see new bucks showing up shortly.

Bow season getting close!

Bucks are shedding velvet, temps have been in the 50′s, and man,, the days really seem to be getting shorter. It only means one thing, BOW SEASON is almost upon us! Oct. 1st is go time!

Fall Food Plot work

We are in the process of getting fall plots in the ground. We love mid-end of Aug to get our cereal grain plots, peas, and clover establishment going. We have had ample rain all summer long so we hope it continues!
